Assalamu Alaikum my dear sister,

It’s late at night. You scroll through Instagram or YouTube and you see so many faces—confident, creative, “perfect." Maybe you wonder, “Can I really start my own Islamic blog or podcast? Who will listen? Am I even good enough?” Believe me, I’ve had these same thoughts too. When I first tried launching an Islamic blog, I kept comparing myself to those glossy influencers. I wasted three whole weeks fussing over a logo no one even noticed! Khair, what matters is what we carry in our heart and the simple Niyyah (intention) we bring for Allah’s sake.

Why Bother? The Value of Your Niyyah

Let’s pause. Before you even choose a platform or record your first nasheed intro, let’s remember why you want to create anything at all. Content creation is like planting seeds—sometimes it grows fast, sometimes slowly, sometimes… it just sits! The Prophet ﷺ said, “The most beloved deeds to Allah are those performed consistently, even if they are small.” Our mother, Khadija (R.A.), used her skills and resources with pure Niyyah, and look at the blessing in her support. If your intention is to bring Sukoon, positivity, and Halal Rizq into the lives of others—even if it’s only 10 sisters reading your blog—Wallahi, there is Barakah in it.

How to Start: Real Steps, Real Struggles

1. Blogging: Your Voice, Your Story

Mini-failure: My first blog post had only three likes (one from my little cousin!). I almost quit. But slowly, real women started messaging me—one even said my words helped her during exams.

  • Real Earnings: Average ad earnings start at around ₹600-₹1000/month (it takes 3-6 months to even reach this).

  • Tools Needed: A clean platform (WordPress, Medium, or even a simple Baserow CMS). Optional: Canva for graphics.

  • Spiritual Benefit: Writing is a form of Sadaqah. You never know who needs that reminder about Sabr or gratitude today.

  • Bonus Khair: Share your Zikr routines. Readers feel seen and less alone.

2. Podcasting: The Sound of Sisterhood

Mini-failure: My first podcast had an echo so bad, I cringed! For weeks, I recorded in my closet (next to winter coats) just to get good audio.

  • Real Stats: On free platforms (Anchor, Spotify), you might get 30-100 listeners in the first two months. That’s like sitting in a halaqah—picture those faces!

  • Tools Needed: Phone, a quiet spot (yes, even your store room works), Audacity (free editing tool).

  • Spiritual Benefit: Voice matters. Remind listeners to say “Bismillah” before daily chores—Barakah will follow, inshaAllah.

3. YouTube: Screen Time with Purpose

Mini-failure: I spent ₹3,500 on a tripod and never used it—ended up filming on a stack of books!

  • Real Earnings: Halal (ad-safe) Islamic channels can earn between ₹2,000–₹9,000/month once you reach 1,000+ subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time. But honestly, it took my friend Zara 11 months to get there.

  • Tools Needed: Basic smartphone camera, natural daylight, a cheerful scarf, and a story worth telling.

  • Spiritual Benefit: You’re sharing Hayaa, Iman, and real Muslimah role models. Not every video will go “viral,” but each can spread Noor.

Real Talk: Let’s Be Honest, Baji-Style

  • "Log kya kahenge?" Khair, everyone will talk, but remember: nobody said anything when you quietly improved your prayer life or learned a new Surah. Your intention is for Allah; the rest is just noise.

  • “What about time? Kids, studies, work…?” Even 20 minutes after Fajr or in between chores matter more than a “perfect” routine. One mum I know records voice notes while cooking daal!

  • Tech nerves? I spent two months just figuring out how to upload an image. Just saying, everyone looks smart online but we’re all learning behind-the-scenes.

Dua for You, My Sister

Ya Allah, bless every sister reading these words with Sukoon in her heart, clarity in her intention, and Barakah in every small effort she makes to share Your Deen. Whether she reaches one person or one million, let her work be heavy on her scale of good deeds. Ameen.
